Melvin Ferd Junko, a scrawny and nerdy janitor, is the alter ego of The Toxic Avenger. His first appearance was in the 1984 Movie "The Toxic Avenger".
After being mercilessly tormented and thrown into a vat of toxic waste, Melvin undergoes a grotesque transformation. He emerges as a hideously deformed, superhumanly strong creature.
Now dubbed "The Toxic Avenger" (often shortened to Toxie), he dedicates his life to fighting crime and corruption in the perpetually polluted town of Tromaville. Actor Mitch Cohen famously portrayed Toxie in the first three movies, while Kenneth Kessler provided the character's voice in the animated series.
